Sharon is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. She completed her dietetics degree at the University of British Columbia and her dietetic internship with Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health where she gained clinical experience in the areas of diabetes, medicine, rehabilitation, and geriatrics. She is currently developing her interest in gut health by working on the Monash University ‘Low FODMAP Diet for IBS’ training course for health professionals and she also plans to pursue additional training on nutrition for women’s health in the future.

Her current experiences in nutrition counselling within a physiotherapy clinic setting as well as her past experiences working as a community cooking instructor have enhanced her passion for delivering truly practical food and nutrition advice (which she promises will also never compromise on taste!). She believes in incorporating the ‘who’ (you, your values, your social context), ‘what’ (nutrition knowledge), ‘why’ (your personal motivations) and ‘how’ (the practical skills) in formulating a plan together that works for you. When it comes to making changes together, she wants you to feel supported in creating small, but mighty, daily habits which will have a compounding effect towards long-term health. Above all, she advocates for the ‘all foods fit’ approach and recognizes that this can and should include your favourite cultural foods and desserts.

In her spare time, she also writes nutrition articles on the topics related to disordered eating, diet culture, and healing relationships with food with the hopes of also serving those in eating disorder recovery in the future. Outside of her nutrition advocacy work, Sharon can be found exploring BC’s hiking trails, attempting landscape painting, baking up a special occasion cake, or building her soon-to-be food blog. Sharon invites you on this nutrition discovery journey and can’t wait to meet you to discuss all things food!
